2nd SAAgeNet Meeting at Sunway University, Malaysia

July 4, 2024

Sunway University in Malaysia was proud to host the 2nd SAAgeNet Knowledge Exchange Symposium, held from 6th-8th of June 2024.

We were happy to welcome a total of 25 attendees from institutions across the UK, India, and Malaysia, ranging from PhD students to Professors. Day 1 saw an action-packed schedule of talks covering a wide spectrum of themes in ageing, including biology, nutrition, cognition, and clinical health – much was learned about what each of us are passionate about and how we’re making a difference for healthy ageing. Day 2 provided an opportunity for free and open discussions, generating exciting new ideas for collaborative projects and potential grant opportunities that may see us integrating methods across disciplines and cultural contexts, and exploring new styles of intervention. To keep the momentum going, Day 3 offered space and time for individuals to continue networking and learning about each other’s perspectives, as well as planning for future events and knowledge exchange visits. Ultimately, the 2nd SAAgeNet Symposium was a success in more ways than one – productive, inspiring, and eye-opening – and most importantly, paving the way for global connections in tackling global challenges.
