ART announce an ECR 3-minute practice pitch event on The future of ageing research: developing successful interdisciplinary collaborations

October 18, 2024

The ART (Ageing Research Translation) of Healthy Ageing Network is pleased to announce details of an exciting development opportunity for Network members – a 2-hour online event which will be held at 12.30pm on Thursday 12 December 2024.

Building on the success of previous Early Career Researcher (ECR) workshops and online events,  Network members are invited to join them in delivering a3-minute practice pitch.

This pitch will be delivered to a panel of leading ageing researchers, including members of the Network Management Group and External Advisory Group, representing a range of disciplines.  You will have 3-minutes (with a maximum of 3slides) to showcase who you are, what you do and what you would offer to an interdisciplinary ageing project.

This is an excellent training and development opportunity, especially for the ECR community, allowing you to develop and refine your oral communication skills, present to an interdisciplinary audience and receive their feedback.  The event has been devised in direct response to feedback from a recent online survey that revealed that, thanks to our previous events, Network members now feel more confident in collaborating across disciplines but would still benefit from the opportunity to share their ideas with their peers and more senior colleagues.

This will be a closed, invitation-only event, attended by presenters and the expert review panel. We welcome applications from Network members who would like to present at this event -applications can be made via the registration form.

The deadline for submission of applications is 4pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024.  All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by Monday 25 November 2024.

Prizes will be awarded for the highest scoring pitch and for the pitch that is most innovative/memorable.
